4 stars: One of my favorite teen books
Kathryn Makris did a fantastic job in telling the story of teenager April Morgan. (Quick Summary) April is having a fantastic time at her high school. She’s about to make the Pep Squad, and one of the most popular boys in school is definitely showing some interest in her. Then April gets the news- her mother didn’t have enough money to pay the bills- so now they’re moving to Easton. Everything in April’s life is going to change. Will she be able to handle it?
I really enjoyed this book. The reader really feels for April. Anyone who’s ever changed schools knows the problems that April is going to go through, and anyone who’s ever lived in a bad neighborhood knows what she has to deal with. With her mother and her brother, her new friend Yoko, and two interesting boys, April might just turn out okay. You’ll have to read and find out. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending. Not everything gets wrapped up and you’re left wanting more !
