Today’s question, courtesy of The Boston Bibliophile: Cataloging sources. What cataloging sources do you use most? Any particular reason? Any idiosyncratic choices, or foreign sources, or sources you like better than others? Are you able to find most things through LT’s almost 700 sources?
Well first off guys, sorry for missing last week’s topic. I was at the beach (yay!) but had very little internet access (*sob*). But I’m back 🙂 On to the question!
Okay- Lol Amazon is definitely the source I use all the time. I’ve actually never even used one of the other sources. I’ve generally been able to find what I’m trying to add every time. Sometimes I have to try a different way, going from title to author to ISBN… sometimes I have to go through titles listed under on the specific author page, but I’ve always been able to find what I needed. You go Amazon! (Well despite my recent troubles with them/ebay, I still admit I like Amazon… can’t say the same for ebay though!)
Missed my last post? It was REVIEW, INTERVIEW, AND GIVEAWAY: “THE QUESTORY OF ROOT KARBUNKULUS: ITEM ONE: MIIST”
I’m the same way, though I have used LoC once or twice and had to hand enter a couple. It’s easier, and usually faster, to just use Amazon.
I’m an ISBN woman myself. Alot of books I buy are Barnes & Noble editions of some special edition.
Yes, I don’t like to admit it, but Amazon really is a great resource – I use them all the time for looking up book info even if I’m not buying. And I agree that eBay isn’t nearly as much fun as it used to be – although I’ve found one or two dependable sellers that I keep going back to.
Thank you for the great link. I was missing the = sign. I have bookmarked it and will refer to it ever after 🙂
Amazon is a great resource. It always seems odd to me when they don’t have a book I want, even if it’s out of print. I pretty much always use the ISBN though if I have the book with me, it’s just easier and almost always pops up the correct or similar result, depending on how old the book is.
I enjoyed reading this book. It is VERY suspenseful and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through this book! This is a must read for anyone who likes Suspense/Thriller books. I hope to see many more books to come from this author!!

Stephen J. Hill’s, “The Music City Madman”, an imaginative, and highly entertaining novel or terror & suspense. Follow FBI special agent, Mark Peterson and local detective Wayne Tilson on a twisted and unexpected path as they hunt for this fiendishly clever serial killer who’s striking a chord of terror into the heart of the country music industry. America’s city of country queens is frozen in shock and the madman has plans for them all. The chill will be felt down your spine as Stephen J. Hill immerses you into a fiction without end, wrapped inside a killer’s delusion.
Amazon seems to take the cake in being the most used. I use it mostly too unless I cannot find a book using that source.
